Day 1
Arrival At Entebbe International Airport
Your driver guide meets you at Entebbe International Airport and transfers you to your accommodation. Dinner and the night are spent there.

Day 2
North To Murchison Falls By Way Of Ziwa
After breakfast the road runs north towards Murchison Falls National Park, with lunch in Masindi and a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track rhinos on foot. Murchison Falls is Uganda's largest protected wildlife area at 3,840 sq km. On arrival you walk to the top of the falls, where the Nile is forced from a width of more than a kilometre into a seven-metre gorge and drops with a roar that throws up a rainbow. Dinner and overnight are at a hotel.

Day 3
Game Drive And The River Nile Boat Cruise
An early breakfast is followed by a game drive across the northern bank, which carries the heaviest concentration of savannah wildlife in the park. Elephants, lions, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, giraffes, waterbucks and hippos are the usual sightings, with leopards a matter of luck and a long list of birds throughout. After lunch a two-hour boat cruise runs up to the foot of the falls, passing water birds and large numbers of hippos and crocodiles. Dinner and overnight are at a hotel.

Day 4
Transfer To Queen Elizabeth National Park
Breakfast is followed by the drive south-west out of Murchison Falls, taking the road through Fort Portal and along the Albertine Escarpment of the Western Rift Valley. Lunch is taken in Fort Portal town. You carry on to the Mweya Peninsula inside Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 5
Game Drive In Queen Elizabeth National Park
An early breakfast is followed by a morning game drive to catch the nocturnal hunters before they settle and the animals that stir at first light: lions, buffaloes, antelope species, leopards, waterbucks, elephants, hippos and warthogs. Birders do well here, with both migratory species and Albertine Rift endemics on the park list. Dinner and overnight are at a hotel.

Day 6
Kazinga Channel Cruise And Chimp Trekking In Kyambura Gorge
After breakfast you take the boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel for game viewing and birds. Lunch is back at the lodge, and the afternoon is spent tracking chimpanzees in the Kyambura Gorge. If time allows there is a forest walk in Maramagambo Forest to the bat cave, where pythons that feed on the bats can be looked for. Dinner and overnight are at a hotel.

Day 7
To Bwindi Forest Through The Ishasha Sector
An early breakfast is followed by the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest by way of Ishasha, in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, where the tree-climbing lions are commonly found. Lunch is taken along the way. The evening brings a community walk with the Batwa, covering their culture and entertainment, before dinner and overnight at a hotel.

Day 8
Gorilla Trekking In Bwindi Forest
After breakfast you go to park headquarters for the gorilla trekking briefing before rangers lead the group into the forest. With luck the walk takes as little as two hours before the family is found, and standing face to face with mountain gorillas is the part of the trip most people remember. You head back for lunch and the rest of the evening is free, with overnight at a hotel.

Day 9
Transfer To Kampala
Breakfast is followed by the drive back to Kampala, with lunch on the way in Mbarara. You reach the capital late in the afternoon for a city tour. From there you are taken straight to the airport for an outbound flight, or to your accommodation if you are not flying that evening.
