Day 1
Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast the guide collects you from your Kampala hotel and drives west to Lake Mburo National Park. There is a stop at the Uganda Equator for a short talk and photographs before the road continues along the Masaka route. You check in on arrival and have lunch, then take an afternoon boat ride on Lake Mburo to look for hippos, crocodiles and the birds along the shore. Dinner and the overnight are at Arcadia Cottages, Mihingo Lodge or Mantana Luxury Tented Camp.

Day 2
Game Drive and Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Breakfast is followed by a game drive in search of zebras, impalas, elands and other savannah species, with birds such as the African finfoot, papyrus species and bush shrike to watch for. You then carry on to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The road passes through the Kabale region, known as the Switzerland of Africa for its hills and highlands. You reach Bwindi in the evening for dinner and the night at Wagtail Eco Safari Camp, Buhoma Community Bandas, Nkuringo Gorilla Camp, Gorilla Resort or Gorilla Mist Camp.

Day 3
Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Breakfast is before 8:00am, then you go to the ranger station for the briefing. Armed park ranger guides then accompany you into the forest, cutting through undergrowth and thick creepers to find the gorillas. How long the tracking takes depends on where the family has moved in search of food and shelter, and it may run anywhere from two to nine hours. Once the gorillas are found you spend an hour with them, watching what they do and taking photographs and video. You return to the lodge for dinner and the night at Wagtail Eco Safari Camp, Gorilla Mist Camp, Buhoma Community Bandas, Nkuringo Gorilla Camp or Gorilla Resort.

Day 4
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Straight after breakfast you drive to the Ishasha area in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for the tree-climbing lions that rest in the fig and acacia trees. Other animals share the area alongside the lions. You then continue to Mweya for a guided nature walk in Maramagambo forest to look for primates, with visits to the bat cave and the blue lake. Dinner and the overnight are at Mweya Safari Lodge, Simba Safari Camp or Ihamba Safari Lodge.

Day 5
Game Drive and Launch Cruise
The morning game drive runs in the Kasenyi area, where lions, hyenas, buffaloes, Uganda kob, leopards, elephants and the elusive forest hog are all possible. You return to the lodge for lunch and then take a launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which brings you close to hippos, crocodiles and buffaloes drinking at the water's edge along with a range of birds. Dinner and the night are again at Mweya Safari Lodge, Simba Safari Camp or Ihamba Safari Lodge.

Day 6
Chimpanzee Trek and Transfer Back to Kampala
After an early breakfast you set out for chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge. The primate walk takes you through steep, thick terrain with other wildlife to look for along the way. You then return to the lodge for lunch before the drive back to Kampala, finishing with a drop-off at the airport for your departure flight.
