What the operator has planned, day by day, across 2 days.

1. Day 1

   Kampala To Murchison Falls, Nile Cruise And The Falls Hike

   You leave your Kampala accommodation at about 6:00 am and drive out through the suburbs towards Masindi by way of Luwero, a run of five and a half hours through green farming country. At the park you check in and cross the Nile by ferry to the Paraa side, where most of the wildlife is concentrated, and settle in at Fort Murchison Lodge overlooking the river and its flood plains; rooms are either self-contained with a private bath or furnished tents on concrete platforms under thatch with a shared bath. Lunch is at the lodge, then the afternoon three-hour boat ride runs upriver to the foot of the falls and back, passing elephant herds coming down to drink, crocodiles, buffaloes, antelopes, schools of hippos and river birds. You disembark below the falls for a guided 45-minute hike up alongside the water on the path Winston Churchill used on his own boat trip through Uganda towards Sudan and Egypt. Your driver guide meets you at the top and you recross by ferry for dinner and a night at Fort Murchison.

2. Day 2

   Game Drive And The Return To Kampala

   Breakfast at Fort Murchison is followed by a game drive across the savannah near Lake Albert, with lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and both savannah and water birds likely, and a leopard possible if the day goes well. You travel in a 4WD safari vehicle with a pop-up roof and are joined by a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger, who picks out the things that are easy to drive past, including a solitary leopard moving under cover, and names birds and plants along the way. The driver keeps the pace slow so nothing is missed, and no two drives turn out the same. You then cross the Nile by ferry and drive back to Kampala or Entebbe, with lunch at the Masindi Hotel on the way.
