Day 1
Transfer to Bwindi
After an early breakfast the company guide collects travellers from Entebbe Airport or from their Kampala hotel, runs through the plan for the trip and sets off for Bwindi. The park sits in the south-west of Uganda and is best known for gorilla tracking. Lunch is taken on the road, with a stop at the Equator for photographs before the drive continues. The group reaches the lodge in time for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2
Gorilla Trekking and a Batwa Cultural Visit
Breakfast is very early, and travellers leave with packed lunch, drinking water, a raincoat and a camera, in sturdy hiking boots and trousers. The drive goes to the Bwindi park headquarters for the tracking briefing, after which each group is given a gorilla family to follow into the forest. Only one hour is allowed with the gorillas once they are found, long enough to watch the silverbacks, the mothers and the juveniles; the trek itself may be short or long depending on where the family has been feeding that day. Afterwards there is time to rest at the lodge before visiting the homesteads of the Batwa, the indigenous people of Bwindi, to see how they live, dance and eat. Dinner and the night are at the lodge.

Day 3
To Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha, and a Boat Cruise
After breakfast the drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park runs through the Ishasha sector, where the tree-climbing lions are found alongside bushbuck, antelope, gazelle, monkeys, elephant and buffalo. The group checks in at the lodge and has lunch there. The afternoon is spent on a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which is good for fish eagle, shoebill stork, African skimmer, pelican and kingfisher, as well as crocodile and hippo along the banks.

Day 4
Morning Game Drive and Return to Kampala or Entebbe
Breakfast is followed by an early game drive along the Kasenyi track, where elephant, buffalo, topi, lion and warthog are regularly seen. The group then leaves the park and drives back towards Kampala, stopping for lunch on the way. Arrival in Kampala is in the evening, and the driver drops travellers at their hotel or continues to Entebbe for a return flight.
