What the operator has planned, day by day, across 3 days.

1. Day 1

   Road Transfer To Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

   Breakfast is taken at 7:00 AM, after which the guide collects you from the airport or from your hotel in Entebbe, Kampala or Kigali and runs through the plan for the three days. The road then heads for south-western Uganda, pausing at a village where drums and crafts are made and again at the equator marker for photographs and souvenir shopping. Lunch is taken in Mbarara town before the last stretch to Bwindi, where you arrive in the late afternoon. The evening is free, with dinner and a night at a hotel.

2. Day 2

   Trekking The Mountain Gorillas In Bwindi Forest

   An early breakfast is followed by the short drive to park headquarters, where rangers set out what you may and may not do around the gorillas and split everyone into parties of eight. How long the walk lasts depends on where the family has moved to, so allow anywhere between two and eight hours over muddy, steep ground, with a walking stick worth carrying. Once the group is found you are allowed one hour in their company to take photographs and watch them feed and move about. The remainder of the evening is yours to rest at the lodge or walk over to the Batwa community and hear about their way of life, dances and stories, before dinner and overnight at a hotel.

3. Day 3

   Return Drive To Kampala

   Breakfast comes early, then you check out and leave behind the hill country that Uganda calls its Switzerland. The road north runs past terraced slopes and thick green vegetation, with lunch in Mbarara and a second stop at the Mbambire drum makers to watch the work and buy a drum. Kampala is reached in the late afternoon, and the guide drops you at your hotel or at the airport for an onward flight.
